Safety & Security Policies

On behalf of the State Fair of Louisiana, guidelines are implemented to provide a safer, more secure, and enjoyable environment for all Fair patrons. The safety of our guests is our top priority.

Daily throughout the Fair, guests can expect the presence of security personnel from various security companies, along with officers from the Shreveport Police Department, City Marshals, and Caddo Sheriff Deputies. All patrons and their possessions are subject to search and will pass through metal detection upon entering the State Fair of Louisiana. Surveillance cameras will also operate throughout the Fairgrounds 24 hours a day for the duration of the Fair.

To help protect the safety and security of everyone, we ask that all guests follow our rules and policies.

Weapons, whether concealed or openly carried, are not permitted on State Fair of Louisiana property, even by individuals holding a Concealed Weapons Permit. Law enforcement officers with appropriate credentials are the only exception.

Youth & Minor Policy

The State Fair of Louisiana is proud to provide a family-friendly environment for guests of all ages. To help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment, the State Fair of Louisiana has implemented an After 6:00 P.M. Youth & Minor Policy.

Beginning at 6:00 p.m. daily, all minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or chaperone who is at least 21 years of age when entering the Fair.

• Each parent, guardian, or chaperone may accompany no more than six (6) minors under the age of 18.
• Groups consisting of more than six (6) minors must have additional parents, guardians, or chaperones who are at least 21 years of age.
• Beginning at 6:00 p.m., all accompanying parents, guardians, and chaperones must present a valid government-issued photo ID upon entry.
• Once inside the Fairgrounds, the parent, guardian, or chaperone is not required to remain with the minors at all times; however, the responsible adult must remain on the Fairgrounds for the duration of the minors' visit.
• State Fair of Louisiana security reserves the right to remove any unaccompanied minor under the age of 18 from the Fairgrounds after 6:00 p.m.

Exemptions
Organized and ticketed group outings, including school, church, corporate, and other pre-scheduled group visits, are exempt from this policy. These groups are subject to their own established chaperone policies and procedures.

The Youth & Minor Policy applies daily beginning at 6:00 p.m., regardless of the day of the week.

Clear Bag Policy

To help provide a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests and to expedite the entry process, the State Fair of Louisiana has implemented a Clear Bag Policy.

Guests are encouraged to limit the number of personal items they bring to the Fair. All bags and personal belongings are subject to inspection upon entry.

APPROVED BAGS

Guests may bring the following:

Clear Bags
Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags that do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" are permitted. This includes clear backpacks, clear fanny packs, and clear drawstring bags that meet the size requirement.

Small Non-Clear Bags
One small clutch or personal bag that does not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" is permitted. The bag may have a handle or strap.

One-Gallon Clear Plastic Bag
One-gallon clear, resealable plastic storage bags, such as a Ziploc bag or similar, are permitted.

SMALL BAG SIZE CHECK

To provide a consistent and objective way to determine whether a small non-clear bag meets the size requirement, the State Fair of Louisiana will use a designated size-check container at entry points.

A small non-clear bag must fit completely inside the 4.5" x 6.5" size-check container, and the lid must close completely.

If the lid does not close completely, the bag does not meet the size requirement and will not be permitted inside the Fair.

Fair personnel will use the size-check container to determine whether a small non-clear bag meets the size requirement. Guests should not rely on the appearance of a bag or the presence of a handle or strap when determining whether the bag meets the size requirement.

MEDICAL BAGS AND NECESSARY MEDICAL ITEMS

Medical bags and items that are necessary for a guest's medical needs are permitted as an exception to the Clear Bag Policy.

All medical bags and necessary medical items are subject to inspection upon entry.

DIAPER BAGS

Diaper bags are permitted when accompanied by an infant or young child.

Diaper bags are subject to inspection upon entry.

FAMILY AND DIETARY NEEDS

Soft-sided coolers and other bags necessary for infant, family, or dietary needs may be permitted as an exception to the Clear Bag Policy and are subject to inspection.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Guests carrying bags that do not meet the requirements of this policy will be asked to return the bag to their vehicle before entering the Fairgrounds.

The State Fair of Louisiana does not provide storage or check-in services for prohibited bags or personal belongings.

The Clear Bag Policy applies to all guests entering the Fairgrounds. Exceptions may be made for medically necessary items and other circumstances at the discretion of State Fair of Louisiana security personnel.

Not Approved Items

For the safety and security of our guests, employees, exhibitors, and performers, the following items are not permitted inside the State Fair of Louisiana Fairgrounds:

Concealed weapons or openly carried weapons, including those carried by permit holders. Law enforcement officers with appropriate credentials are the only exception.
Pets, except service animals permitted under applicable law, animals permitted in the campgrounds, or animals that are part of an authorized act or exhibit.
Camera cases
Drones
Fireworks, sparklers, or explosives
Laser pointers
Alarm devices
Illegal drugs, substances, or related paraphernalia
Knives
Hard-sided coolers
Glass bottles or containers
Aerosol cans
Selfie sticks
Banners or flags on poles
Signs
Skateboards, hoverboards, roller skates, or inline skates
Bicycles, tricycles, or unicycles

BAGS AND PERSONAL ITEMS

Bags and personal items that do not meet the requirements outlined in the Clear Bag Policy are not permitted inside the Fairgrounds.

Any prohibited bag or item must be returned to the guest's vehicle before entering the Fairgrounds. The State Fair of Louisiana does not provide storage or check-in services for prohibited items.

This list is not all-inclusive. The State Fair of Louisiana reserves the right to prohibit any item determined to be dangerous, hazardous, inappropriate, or a potential safety or security concern.

Code of Conduct

The State Fair of Louisiana is committed to providing a safe, family-friendly, and enjoyable environment for all guests. Guests are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and responsible manner while on the Fairgrounds.

The following are not permitted:

• Clothing or attire that is inappropriate or otherwise unsuitable for a family-friendly environment.

• Alcoholic beverages, including alcoholic beverages brought into or consumed in parking areas.

• Demonstrations, protests, or large gatherings that interfere with Fair operations, impede pedestrian traffic, or create a safety or security concern.

• Behavior or activities that endanger, threaten, intimidate, or unreasonably disturb other guests, employees, vendors, or participants.

• Exposed underwear or pants worn in a manner that does not provide appropriate coverage.

• Gang-related signs, symbols, or activities that promote or encourage violence, criminal activity, or disruption.

• Standing on chairs, benches, tables, or other structures not intended for standing.

• Distributing handbills or other materials, soliciting, or petitioning without prior authorization from the State Fair of Louisiana.

• Megaphones, electrical whistles, or similar amplified or disruptive devices without prior authorization.

• Smoking or vaping inside any buildings, while waiting in carnival ride lines, in viewing stands, tents, or livestock barns.

• Intoxication or other signs of alcohol or substance impairment when accompanied by irresponsible, disruptive, or unsafe behavior.

The State Fair of Louisiana reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any guest whose conduct violates this Code of Conduct or creates a safety, security, or disruption concern.

Any prohibited items must be returned to vehicle. This list is not all-inclusive list and State Fair officials reserve the right to alter the prohibited items list at any time.

Photo Policy

Smile! By entering the State Fair of Louisiana Fairgrounds, you acknowledge and consent to the taking of photographs, video, and audio recordings for promotional and other purposes. By entering the Fairgrounds, you grant the State Fair of Louisiana, its sponsors, organizers, and service providers permission to use, publish, reproduce, and distribute your name, image, likeness, voice, and/or appearance in any and all media, whether now known or developed in the future, without compensation or further notice.

You waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising from such use and release the State Fair of Louisiana, its sponsors, organizers, and service providers from any claims or liability related to the use of your image, likeness, voice, or appearance.
