Do you have restroom facilities on site?
Yes, we do have restroom facilities available on site. You can find restrooms in the Livestock area on the Independent Midway, in the Agricultural Building, and also on the Carnival Midway. Our aim is to ensure convenient access to facilities throughout our premises. If you need further assistance locating these facilities during your visit, please feel free to ask our staff for guidance.
Is there a First Aid station nearby?
Yes, we have medical assistance readily available on site. Our grounds are staffed with highly trained Medical Professionals from the City of Shreveport Fire Department. They operate a Medical Command Post near the restrooms close to the Main Entertainment Stage and also patrol the grounds on UTVs. If you require medical assistance at any time during your visit, please don't hesitate to alert a staff member, who will ensure that you receive prompt attention from our medical team. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities.
How long will animals be in the Livestock Area?
Livestock shows occur throughout all three weeks of the fair. However, specific move-in and move-out times vary depending on the breed or species being exhibited. For a detailed schedule, please refer to the
complete livestock schedule. Additionally, aside from the state's largest livestock shows, animals can be found in our Zoo area every day of the fair.
Do you have strollers, wagons or wheel chairs for rent? How much are they?
Yes, we offer strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs for rent through a vendor at our location. Rentals are available at both hourly and daily rates for your convenience. The rental location is situated just inside the main gate, ensuring easy access for our visitors. Should you require any assistance or have further inquiries about renting equipment, our staff will be happy to assist you
Do you have handicap parking?
Yes, we do provide handicap parking facilities. These designated parking spaces are intended to accommodate visitors with disabilities, ensuring convenient access to our venue. Is there a FREE day at the fair?

How much does it cost to park?
Daily fairgoers can enjoy complimentary parking in our general parking lot! We're committed to making the fair accessible to everyone and ensuring that all visitors have the chance to enjoy the event without any additional parking fees. Feel free to park your vehicle in our general parking lot at no cost and immerse yourself in the festivities. We look forward to welcoming you to the fair!
Do you have security onsite?
Yes, ensuring the safety of all visitors is our utmost priority. To achieve this, we have implemented rigorous security measures, including the presence of multiple Shreveport Police Officers stationed throughout the grounds. Additionally, the Shreveport Police Department operates a command bus located on the independent midway near the entertainment stage, close to the restrooms. Alongside uniformed officers, we employ undercover agents and collaborate with private security companies to maintain a secure environment. Furthermore, all guests must pass through security screening at the gates before entering the grounds. If you require assistance from a security officer, please notify our staff promptly. Your safety is paramount to us.
I am handicap, can you give me a ride on your golf cart?
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide rides on golf carts due to insurance regulations. However, if you require assistance navigating the grounds, we offer wheelchair rentals, including both manual and motorized scooters, through a third-party vendor. The vendor is conveniently located just inside our main entrance gate for easy access. Hourly and daily rental rates are available. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own motorized wheelchair or scooter. Please note that ATVs, UTVs, or Golf Carts are not permitted on the premises. May I bring my golf cart to the fair?
Only approved vendors and staff members are permitted to operate golf carts on the fairgrounds. Vendors are required to purchase a Golf Cart permit from the credentials officer and provide proof of insurance before operating on the premises. Unfortunately, fairgoers are not allowed to bring such devices due to insurance and safety concerns. We prioritize the safety and well-being of all our attendees, and we appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines. Why do you charge so much for food?
We understand your concern about food prices, and we want to assure you that the State Fair of Louisiana does not control the pricing set by our food vendors. Each vendor operates independently and factors in various costs when determining prices, including the cost of products, staff members, booth rent, utilities, insurance, and more. Many vendors travel from far distances to participate in the fair, and they strive to keep costs as affordable as possible while covering their expenses. We appreciate your understanding and support, and we hope you enjoy the diverse selection of food options available at the fair.
Am I allowed to bring my own food or drink?
Unfortunately, we do not permit outside food or drink on the fairgrounds. However, we offer a wide variety of food for purchase inside the grounds. There's something for everyone to enjoy. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this policy. If you have any dietary restrictions or specific preferences, please don't hesitate to explore the diverse culinary offerings available at the fair.
It started raining while I was at the fair, may I get a refund?
We understand your concern, but unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds due to circumstances beyond our control, such as inclement weather. Fairgoers are encouraged to monitor the weather forecast before attending the fair. Regardless of the situation, refunds will not be issued as acts of nature are beyond our control.
I forgot something in my car, am I allowed to reenter?
Reentry is permitted, but requires the purchase of another gate admission ticket. We do not issue pass outs. Once you exit our gates for any reason, reentry requires passing through security screening and purchasing another ticket to enter the grounds again.
